Gambler’s Fallacies:
If developing a foolproof strategy for Rock-Paper-Scissors or determining whether or not you made a good deal sounds interesting to you, here’s your chance to learn how. This summer camp will use various games of chance as well as certain game show scenarios to discuss probability, address common probability misconceptions, and demonstrate a fun application of probability.

The camp will be theme based and incorporate books with fun filled writing, reading and stem activities that will have an influence on the students love of reading. In addition, the camp will develop the children’s reading strategies, decoding skills, improve their spelling, fluency, comprehension and penmanship.

Did you know that potential employers typically only look at the first 1/3 of a resume before they make a decision about a prospective employee? Come learn this and other facts about resumes with Mrs. Renee. Many will argue that a resume is the single most important document you’ll compose in your life. Is yours up to par? By the end of this 4 hour course, students will learn how to create an effective resume, cover letter, and conduct a professional interview.

Have you ever wondered just what makes things you see everyday really happen? Why exactly does a car slow down when you put on the brakes? What is the cause of the old saying, “What goes up must come down?” Why does walking across a carpet in socks build up electricity? You may find the answers to these questions and many others in this series of inquiry based physics lessons. The knowledge will also be indispensable if you plan on taking physics in high school, and problem solving tactics learned from physics can be applied in many other areas as well.
